Vanessa Hadox

Vanessa Hadox is a non-profit development and communications professional with in-depth experience in the public art field. She is currently serving as Associate Director, Individual Giving at Public Art Fund in New York City. Prior to joining PAF’s team in 2017, she was Director of Development and Communications at Groundswell, a community-based mural organization. As an active member of arts and fundraising communities in New York, Vanessa has served as a proposal evaluator for the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs’ Cultural Development Fund, the JM Kaplan Innovation Prize, and the Brooklyn Arts Council’s Creative Coalitions Commission. She has spoken about the role of the arts in urban planning and design at the Van Alen Institute; shared urban arts education best practices with the U.S. State Department’s International Visitors Program; and led tours for the Municipal Art Society’s “Jane’s Walk” program. Vanessa holds a BA in History from UC Irvine and an MA in Museum Studies from NYU. Her scholarship is focused on the sociology of placemaking and the role of art in public spaces.
